PizzaRox- Organic Local Great Pizza

When I first saw the new " PIZZAROX" sign near the corner of Gateway Blvd and Congress Ave in the Rennaissance Commons Center in Boynton Beach, I thought, OK, a new pizza place.......we'll see. Then when an old chef friend of mine was visiting and wanted to have pizza, instead of going to my then fav place, I quickly looked up 'PIZZAROX' onlne and saw good reviews, organic ingredients, a brick oven that roasts at super high temps so it comes out crisp and smoky. I said "Let's try 'PIZZAROX'. Yes, out the door.

Walking into a clean, well layed out restaurant, we were greeted by the young energetic staff. It was our first 'PIZZAROX', and we were politely given a quick overview of how and what we could order. First of all, I immediately realize these guys are serious. ORGANIC vegetables, lots of them too, local quality cheeses, no nitrates non gmo sausage and meats, even local "Mike's Hot Honey". ALL OF IT, not just one option out of 100. ALL of the ingredients in this reataurant are carefully chosen for quality and are hormone, antobiotics, and pesticide free. Plus a Gluten Free option. Not just a hastily thought of gluten free crust, but a really great, top quality gluten free flour made pizza dough. You're kidding me right? A gluten free organic pizza made right in front of you. People this is what you want to eat!! It's all over the restuarant, "Free Your Pizza"

At the same time, I see now the "ROX" in PIZZAROX. With rock legend filled big murals on the wall, very cool btw, and names of signature pizza's like 'Hot for Teacher', 'Atomic Punk', 'Californication', and 'I Melt With You', these guys mean it. The oven is literally a turntable, it slowly spins like a 33 LP record player........a little slower, dropping big hits in pizza. As fanatical about giving their rock gods' props, this restaurant is thankfully not a loud rock charging music place that you can't hear yourself eat. It is a very family friendly, inviting pizza place. There are two ways to order pizza......Scratch that, actually there are two ways to order "YOUR Freshly Hand Crafted Pizza" is more precisely the experience you will get here. For those who want to put their smoky, melty veggy crusty pizza craving hunger in the hands of the masters, order from the 9 "PIZZAROX" signatures which, yes I'll say it, all ROCK! The pizzas here are a generous personal size at about 12 inches round with four slices, plenty for one at a great price.

Back to the ingredients because that is bottom line why you go back. Smoke on the Water - Even the water is special filtered then chilled to an exact temperature when it goes into the dough directly injected. This just gets better doesn't it? They have quite honestly taken much more thought and care into starting this great "PIZZAROX" concept than we are used to. Great thing for us customers is what I say. This pizza is worth coming for.

PIZZA - OK, I personally would never put Madonna in the same room as the Stones, Van Halen or Zeppelin, but the 'PIZZAROX' 'Like A Virgin' pizza can hangout backstage anytime. San Marzano hand crushed tomatoes and shredded mozzarella for $6.00 equals the perfect simple cheese pie. 'Valley Girl' is spun together with Chicken, Basil Pesto, Fior Di Latte, Grape Tomatoes and Red Onion. Knarley dude. 'Hot For Teacher" a 'PIZZAROX' classic, rifts Sopressota with Jalepano's, Mike's Hot Honey, and Parmigiano Reggiano onto a San Marzano Tomato and Fior Di Latte pizza to give you a spicy flavorful pie that Diamond Dave would be proud of. Did I mention that you can make any of these pies Gluten Free?

Because we all have a little David Bowie in us, we like Changes and have that Desire to create our own hits. Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends. The 'Build Your Own' menu. You start with the dough and sauce of your choice and if wanted, cheese. Then you pick up to four toppings from the organic, quality, and yes healthy choices to orchestrate your perfect pie. There are even two dessert pizzas. The 'White Wedding' with canoli cream, organic strawberries and bananas, Nutella and10X sugar, and the 'Raspberry Beret', with Cinnamon Sugar, Caramel and Raspberries.

To further this hippy lovefest, there are organic salads. The 'Rich Girl' an Organic Kale and Organic Romaine Caesar with Croutons, Grape Tomatoes, and Parmigiano Reggiano. Riding into the sunset the 'California Dreamin' Organic Arugula, Grape Tomatoes, Fior Di Latte, and Basil Pesto.

Craft Tap Room? Well pretty close, SIXTEEN local, regional brews. Hand picked to match the menu, OK I know, you had me at pizza and beer, but these guys are running on all cylinders. Due South, Copperpoint, Funky Buddha, Cigar City, Winwood, MIA all being represented here. You could come here just for the beers, heck there are big monitors playin ESPN. If you get the munchies there's a pretty great pizza place in there as well. I'm kind of glad I live nearby, now I'm in the mood for 'PIZZAROX'. Hours and Online ordering at PIZZAROX.com
